Meet Melvin: Our February Brocc Star
Congratulations to Melvin Delcid, the DNO “Brocc Star” for February 2022. Melvin has been with DNO for twelve years and started on a 3rd shift production team. Today, he serves as an Assistant Supervisor on the 1st shift. Melvin is known for wearing many hats with the company. He helps run and repair machines, cut fresh produce, and translate for teammates. “I want every hour I spend here to be productive,” Melvin explains.
“Melvin is a role model on our team,” said Operations Manager Tony DiMarco. “He rolls up his sleeves and does what it takes to get the job done. More than that, he is adaptable and willing to learn new things. With our company quickly growing, Melvin’s flexibility and can-do attitude are going to take us far.
Melvin says he most appreciates that DNO is a family company, and we treat our employees as an extension of that family. “I know Tony and Alex DiNovo personally. They ask about my family and care if something is going on with one of my kids.” Melvin says he also appreciates the professional growth and learning he has gained. “I've learned many things here. I’ve learned about the food industry, I’ve helped with many big inspections, and my English has improved a lot.”
Melvin is known throughout the company as someone always willing to lend a hand or a thoughtful word of encouragement or advice. Outside of work, Melvin keeps busy with his four children and enjoys fishing and tending to his backyard flock of chickens and his wife’s rose garden.
