At DNO Produce, we are thrilled to highlight our partnerships with local farms dedicated to sustainable and community-focused agriculture. This month, our Field to Fork series shines a spotlight on Three Creeks Produce, a local, woman-owned farm in Groveport, Ohio, committed to growing organic produce that nurtures the land, the environment, and the community.

Established in 2016 by first-generation farmers Kendyl and Andy, Three Creeks Produce embodies a passion for the environment, ecology, and sustainable farming. Despite not having an agricultural background, Kendall and Andy combined their unique skills and passions to create a thriving organic farm. Kendall, driven by her love for the environment and a vision for local farm-to-table produce, teamed up with her husband, Andy, who brought his expertise in organic certification and farming.

Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, Three Creeks Produce offers a large farming space within the city limits, where they grow a diverse range of organic vegetables. From root veggies to edible florals and niche vegetables, they emphasize soil-building practices and careful ecological stewardship, refraining from the use of synthetic pesticides and herbicides. Their dedication to maintaining healthy soil and ecosystems ensures high-quality produce, all hand-harvested with care.

Three Creeks Produce stands out not only for its diverse range of crops but also for its innovative farming techniques. Kendyl and Andy have mastered the art of timing and weather to optimize their planting schedules, and they creatively manage weed growth without herbicides. Their commitment to productivity within their available space aligns perfectly with their goal of providing fresh, local food to restaurants.

One of the farm’s primary focuses is supplying fresh produce to local restaurants, including favorites like Brassica and Northstar. Their year-round Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program also reflects their dedication to offering people opportunities to try new, fresh items, mirroring DNO’s philosophy of accessible, nutritious food. Additionally, Three Creeks Produce partners with us for the Ohio CAN program and collaborates with local food pantries to ensure good food is accessible to all.

Kendyl finds immense joy in the rewarding aspects of farming: being outside, participating in the growing process, and contributing to the community by providing nourishing food. Despite the challenges of labor and the ambitions for expansion, including the dream of a facility to process fresh produce, Kendyl and Andy’s unwavering dedication to food, health, sustainability, and the environment shines through in every harvest.

At DNO Produce, we are proud to support Three Creeks Produce and their mission to bring fresh, organic, and locally grown produce to our community. By partnering with passionate farmers like Kendyl and Andy, we not only ensure a supply of delicious, nutritious produce but also strengthen our community and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
