Meet Bailey: Our May Brocc Star!
Join us in congratulating Bailey for receiving May’s Brocc Star award!
Bailey is our Business Development Manager, and he does an impeccable job at maintaining relationships with our clients and seeking new business opportunities for DNO. He works mostly with K-12 schools, and is one of our best advocates, promoting school nutrition and food security. You can catch him traveling all over the country and meeting with industry leaders to make a real difference in the produce space!
He is exceptionally passionate about K-12 produce programs and grateful that he spends his time helping shape the way that children across the country experience fresh produce while also providing equitable access to fresh produce by partnering with regional food banks. His passion for health comes, in part, from his experience growing up. He had a much more limited experience with his school lunches: “fresh” meant canned green beans, frozen broccoli, fruit cups with syrup, and instant mashed potatoes. Having these interactions meant that DNO’s mission to change the trajectory of human health through fresh produce resonated deeply with him.
Bailey has an extensive background is in food science and sustainability, so DNO was a natural fit! He says that he takes pride in being a part of our team because he feels heard and seen, and his input is valued highly among our sales team and across other departments. He also appreciates “our forward-thinking mindset surrounding an otherwise archaic industry.”
His nominator said that “Bailey emulates all the qualities of an ideal DNO associate. He has a positive, can-do attitude and doesn’t get discouraged when facing challenges or setbacks. Bailey is a hard worker and puts in the hours with urgency and energy. He goes above and beyond to communicate with his colleagues and our customers to make sure everyone has the information they need to be successful. He knows people across the company and takes time to recognize others when they go above and beyond. Bailey helps others in any way he can. We are lucky to have him on our team!”
Outside of work, Bailey likes to hike and explore forests with his fiancé Merry and their dogs. He is also hunting the ever-elusive morel mushrooms. Best of luck, Bailey!
