Hamilton Township Alumni Clear School Lunch Debt

39 Hamilton Township alumni came together to personally contribute $2,818 to clear the 2021 school lunch debt for Hamilton Township High School students.

The initiative was led by Jeremy Taylor, Hamilton Township graduate and Vice President of Sales at DNO Produce, with the goal of creating more access and opportunity to fresh, healthy school meals. The senior class had a balance of $900.90 owed, so the difference from the contributions was extended to support the Freshman  - Junior classes as well. The total raised was able to pay for 100% of high school lunch debt with a balance to apply towards the 2021-2022 school year.

“Never again should we allow students to pass through Hamilton Township Schools with debt owed to eat” said Jeremy, “I am floored by the amount of kindness and willingness to create a positive impact for these students and their families.” The thought began on social media and word spread, engaging 39 past Rangers to rally. Contributors included; Alesia Stiffler, Dwan McKinster, Kyla Hubbard, Alexis Morgan, Emily Bradd, Lauren Legg, Anna Britton, Heather Tinnes, Mary Grubb, Barry Ranft, Jacob Taylor, Matthew Snider, Brittney Jarrell, Janet Taylor, Matthew Snider, Brittney Jarrell, Janet Taylor, Mike Sayre, Bryan Andrews, Jay Schmidt, Nita Baird, Brytney Winderl, Jessica Deitering, Rajan Patel, Courtney Clemens, Kacie Burkitt, Rich Rayburn, Courtney Ford, Kaleigh Saylor, Robert Sayre, Coven Molinar, Kari Burrows, Ryan Conley, Debbie Woods, Katie Holmes, Ryan Stimplfle, Derrick Burgess, Kimberly Green, Tyler Korbel, Diane Mosher, Kimberly Hopkins, Vanessa Sansom – Davy.

Jeremy has been in the produce business for over seven years and has seen the need to allow more access to fresh fruits and vegetables first-hand. The Freshealth division of DNO Produce focusses on providing fresh and easy pre-packaged produce for K-12 school meal programs. “The focus on my local hometown school made sense, contributing to help create healthier communities is what I want to continue to do – personally and professionally.” said Taylor.
