We are the "to" in Farm-to-Fork, School, Table & Instituion
Our roots start with our local growers
We're a family business dating back generations within the produce industry. That has allowed us to build up long term, generational relationships with local growers. In 1989 Tony DiNovo purchased a cooperative of famers in Central Ohio and thus, DNO Produce was born, a trend setter for our current movement to support and buy local.
This background and our expertise allow us to develop local programs across the Midwest. Columbus, Ohio, home to our processing and distribution facilities provides a central location to service small and large scale farmers and customers alike.
From the school cafeterias in Ohio, our supply services expanded to Kentucky, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. Sourcing from farmers in each state to satisfy local demand, our Farm to School program grew quickly, aiding the produce production in each state. Soon the need for cropping programs arose and again the individual states benefited from DNO's commitment to the farming communities. Our partner food hubs, nutritional agencies, departments of education, food service directors and other stakeholders promoting healthy habits, DNO advocates in tandem with them, supporting respective legislation and policies that help offset the inequities in our food system.
Our expertise allows us to develop local programs across the Midwest
Our company's central location in Columbus, Ohio allows us to develop local programs throughout the entire state of Ohio. We procure and distribute local product for large chain groceries, ice cream companies, food service, farmer's markets & more.
We began our relationship in Michigan many years ago, by working with the phenomenal growers that exist in Michigan to help source for customers throughout the Midwest. As we grew and began our work with more school districts in Michigan, we have built Farm-to-School & Farm-to-Institution programs within the state.
Similar to Michigan, we've been the connector and program specialist within Wisconsin schools to develop a more local Wisconsin presence in Wisconsin schools.
